Our Mission for Year 4: COR is more than an occasional program; it is a cultural shift. To sustain this momentum, every local council must prayerfully appoint a dedicated Evangelization and Faith Formation (EFF) Director to bridge statewide vision with local action.

Brother Knights,

As we enter our fourth year of the COR initiative in Kansas, I am filled with gratitude for the work already being done across our councils and with renewed conviction about the road ahead. COR has reminded us that the heart of the Knights of Columbus is not only service, charity, and fraternity, but also the formation of Catholic men who pray together, grow together, and lead their families, parishes, and communities with courage.

The Momentum of Cor in Kansas
Across our state, COR is gaining real momentum. More councils are beginning to understand that men are hungry for something deeper: authentic brotherhood, meaningful prayer, clear teaching, and a place where faith is strengthened rather than left on the sidelines. That momentum is a blessing, but it also brings a responsibility. If COR is going to become more than an occasional program, if it is going to become part of the life and culture of every council, then we must build leadership where it matters most: at the local council level.

Why Local Leadership Matters
This is why the role of a local Evangelization and Faith Formation Director is so important. A council-level EFF Director is not simply another title to fill or another name on a form. He is the brother who helps keep the spiritual mission of the council alive. He encourages prayer, supports COR gatherings, invites men to participate, coordinates with council leadership and parish clergy, and helps ensure that faith formation is not forgotten in the busyness of council life.

Without local leadership, even the best statewide vision can lose strength before it reaches the men in the pews. But when a council has a committed EFF Director, COR becomes personal. It becomes local. It becomes sustainable. That brother can see the needs of his own council, understand the rhythm of his own parish, and help create opportunities for men to encounter Christ right where they are. 

Your Next Step: Appoint an EFF Director
I ask every council to prayerfully identify and appoint a dedicated EFF Director who will help lead this effort with humility, consistency, and conviction. Choose a man who loves the faith, believes in the mission, and is willing to invite others into the brotherhood they may not even know they need. Give him support. Encourage him. Work with him. 

The future of COR in Kansas will not be built only by state officers, diocesan leaders, or district deputies. It will be built council by council, parish by parish, and brother by brother. Each local EFF Director becomes a bridge between vision and action, between invitation and participation, between a good idea and a lasting movement of faith.
